My Teddy Bear

1960’s Pouty Bear

๐Ÿ”ฎ A Random Thought ~

The Knickerbocker Doll & Toy Company was founded in New York city in 1925 by Leo L. Weiss. The company made what today we call plush toys. Then they were simply stuffed animals. In 1983 the company was sold to Hasbro. Consequently the items made between 1925 to 1983 are now considered collectors items. No longer simple stuffed toys.

In 1955 Knickerbocker began making a teddy bear they called the Pouting Bear. It was 10″ tall, brown, with a brown and white striped cloth tummy, plush stuffed, and had a plastic pouting face with closed eyes.ย  Continue reading

Thoughts – Inspirational Quotes

monsters๐Ÿ”ฎ A Random Thought ~

I’ve seen a lot of inspirational images around the web. Some of them have really caught my attention.

The boys and I are sitting here watching football and I have to be doing something. So I decided to post some of my favorite inspirational quotes.

Thoughts – On Shampoo

herbal-honeyimstrong๐Ÿ”ฎ A Random Thought ~

Last time the boys went to get their hair cut, we had a talk with Kathy (their stylist) about shampoo. Seems the 3 shampoos you must stay away from are Pert, Prell and Suave. Great. We use Suave, mainly because it’s cheap.

But why those 3?
Turns out that Pert, Prell and Suave have wax in them. Now you’d think that would be helpful. Nope. I did a little research and discovered that wax in your shampoo is advertised to hold the strands together, and limit split ends. Which it does.

But what they don’t tell you is; it also drys your hair out because the natural oils in your body can’t penetrate the wax and get to the strand itself. Yes some comes from the root, but some comes from the scalp and is transferred to the strands through your hair moving around through the course of the day until the next shampooing. Thoughts – Bigotry & Religion

love๐Ÿ”ฎ A Random Thought ~

Bigotry based in religious ignorance is still bigotry. Especially when the your version of Bible scripture is based on a political interpretation of your sacred text and not on an accurate historical factual interpretation. By proclaiming the path of spirituality, you are professing to care for your fellow humans. Thatโ€™s hard to do when you hold some groups in a category of disdain and bigotry. ~ Springwolf

Bigotry Cloaked In Religion Is Still Bigotry
โ€œIt is simply a fact that the Bible does not discuss or condemn loving, gay relationships.โ€ said Matthew Vines “the traditional interpretations of all six Bible passages that refer to homosexual acts, are wrong.”ย

If you believe in the Bible and proclaim yourself to be Christian, then you should follow an accurate interpretation of scripture. Not the bastardized view established by the elite in a century when power was enforced through the Church.

Thoughts – The Doctors

TheTardis๐Ÿ”ฎ A Random Thought ~

If you’ve never watched the BBC’s Doctor Who, you’re missing out on one of the best long lived stories of our modern age. It’s not a kids show, it’s not a sci-fi show, it’s not a show for geeks or just a show for guys. It’s a show for everyone in the family, of every age and from every walk of life.

It’s viewed by over 7.7million people on 6 different continents, through 75 different countries. The 50th Anniversary Special was simulcast around the world from Canada to Colombia, Brazil to Botswana and Myanmar to Mexico and more.

If that many people have supported and tuned in year after year, then that should be proof enough to anyone that the tales of the Doctor not only endure space and time, they bring entertainment and even hope to many who love the Doctors, the companions, the friends and the villains.
